A variety of new radiation source and detector concepts are studied, such as nanowire-enhanced devices and GaN Gunn diodes (Pioneer fund, TU Darmstadt) as well as applications of nanowire-based devices (BMBF-project health care NEMS)

Jasameen Al Mafrachi (PhD student) develops carbon nanotube-based ultra-broadband radiation detectors (THz to UV).
Dr.-Ing. Ahid S. Hajo works on THz sources based on GaN gunn diodes and nanomaterials as well as nano-contacted Schottky diode detectors. Currently, he works on nanomaterials for health care within the BMBF-funded project “Health care NEMS”
